Jabu Events is proud to have produced an 8 minute animation film as content for the United Nations ESCAP Asia-Pac Forum on Sustainable Development Hybrid Meeting Event held in Bangkok.  This was a unique and a first of its kind Hybrid meeting event with participants in Bangkok communication with other online participants.  This animation film was produced during the peak of the Covid19 pandemic in Thailand.  And we produced this film with zero human interaction keeping social distancing in mind as a priority. Initially this event was scheduled as a regular on-ground event however due to the pandemic the event was moved to a hybrid event format. A group of participants assembled at the UN ESCAP center in Bangkok while others connected online from different parts of the Asia Pacific region to participate in this event.

About the film & the UNs SDGs

UN ESCAP organizes this annual event in order to implement the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals which.  The UN has set a deadline for 2030 to achieve these goals.  If we  miss this deadline we might cross the tipping point of no return.  The discussions at the event revolve around tracking current progress.  It also stresses on the urgent need to accelerate in achieving these goals as most countries are off target.   Various heads of state from the Asia Pacific region, Ambassadors, Senior Government officials, UN Staff and NGOs are the attendees at this event among others.

The film needed to communicated to its audience the urgent need to accelerated in trying to achieve these 17 UN SDGs.  This film and the message within is extremely important especially at this time as we deal with a global pandemic.  Just as the pandemic is being fought collectively, the UNs 17 SDGs need to be achieved together as well.  There is no other way than to come together as one.  Or else it will be just too late to save our planet. The film attempts to tell the story from the perspective of a 6-year-old girl. She scolds her parents (all adults) to get their act together or it might be just too late!  And you know what? She is right! It’s time we all get to work!

Making of the film

Making of this film was extremely challenging.  We had just under 2 weeks to produce the animation and that too during the lock-down in Thailand.  However Jabu Events took on the challenge and delivered to the satisfaction of the team at the United Nations.  Read more about how we made the film in our Blog Post.

The video is also available on the UN ESCAP’s YouTube ChannelContact us at Jabu Events, for more info on producing content or producing Hybrid Events in Bangkok, Phuket or other destinations of Thailand.
